For Balance Druid it's your feedback loop: check Moonfire vs Starfall vs Starsurge contribution per pull to know if your DoT uptime is where it should be, and use the cast efficiency view to spot wasted Starcaller windows. Also how you prove to your raid team that the Balance Druid who went OOM in phase 2 was the healer's fault.

Balance Druid lives or dies on multi-target DoT uptime in M+. The old DoT-tracker WeakAura showed timers in a separate widget; Platynator puts them on the enemy nameplates themselves — Moonfire and Sunfire timers float above each target so you can scan the room without taking your eyes off the action. Configure it to highlight enemy interrupts too, so you know when something needs to be kicked.

Midnight blocked cross-character combat state — but OmniCD reconstructs it using the combat-log feed that's still legal. For Balance Druid this matters most for Innervate: you can see when other healers are about to need mana, when another Druid is in your group, and avoid the 'two Druids Innervate the same target' mistake the old Dibs on Innervate aura existed to solve. Also covers raid kicks and external defensives like Ironbark.

The built-in Cooldown Manager is Blizzard's replacement for personal CD trackers, but its default layout treats every cooldown equally. BetterCooldownManager lets you order CDs by importance and group them. For Balance Druid, surface Incarnation → Convoke → Fury of Elune → Starfall as the burst-window stack, and pull Force of Nature / Celestial Alignment into a 'talent-dependent' group. Audio cues for when long CDs come back means you stop forgetting Convoke during cooldown windows.

Balance Druid has one of the more complex priority systems — Eclipse cycling, Starsurge charges, Fury of Elune windows, and Convoke alignment all compete for attention. MaxDps puts a glow on whichever spell you should cast next, based on your current buff state and cooldowns. It doesn't play the game for you, and experienced players will outgrow it — but for learning the spec or getting back on track mid-pull, it's genuinely useful. Disable it once the priority list is second nature.
